- Hike curated for little explorers and their loved ones
- Season appropriate, like in summer the outings are mostly shaded
- Accessible distances and elevation gain (climb)
- Good picnic spots (usually halfway through or at end)
- Scouted for poison oak, nettlesome bugs (wasps, bees, yellowjackets) and difficult terrain
- Wildlife or interesting sites, where available, such as monarch butterflies, newborn elephant seals, ancient Redwoods
- Information on the hike, history and wildlife/plants of interest
- Information on local places to eat, shop, where appropriate, to make a day of an adventure
- Access to:
- First aid kit that’s kid specific (Orajel, Tylenol)
- CPR certified provider (me)
- Hiking poles, Thule jogging stroller and BabyBjörn carrier (limited supplies; must give 24 hours advance notice)
- Hats
- Binoculars
- Some toys, like shovels and buckets
- Kid-friendly activities, like story time, simple art projects, playing in the dirt and water play, where available
- Mindfulness exercise
- Help planning hiking, walking goals, such as walking in the Big Sur Marathon
Cost:
- Drop-in: $35
- Four activities: $120 (must be used in two months)
- Free community hike on Thursday mornings
